Moms, we found a healthy pizza base for you! (No, it’s not cauliflower!)

It feels like we’re always on a diet – looking for recipes that are low-carb – especially when it comes to things like bread, pizza and pitas. Our partners and kids, however, aren’t always as enthusiastic about the cauliflower chicken wrap they know will be served for dinner tonight.

Yes, it’s hard to follow a low-carb diet (or cut down on carbs) when your kids thrive on bread, pizza, chicken nuggets and your husband just can’t have a braai without his braaibroodjie.

Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve tried some of the GO-LO products and it has made such a difference to my lifestyle. I already follow a low-carb diet, but now I could eat pizza in the middle of the week (and it didn’t have to be a cheat meal), and yummy chocolate oats for breakfast! Who doesn’t want chocolate for breakfast?

The Pitas come in packs of three and they are huge! They make for a very healthy and nutritious lunch filled with chicken, cucumber, tomato, lettuce and a bit of cheese.

I also cut them open in half to make toast with No-Sugar Peanut Butter the following day for a snack.

While you can freeze the products if you don’t use everything in one go – you have to use them within 5 days of opening the pack.

One pita contains only 5.62g of carbs! If you’re counting your carbs you’ll know how little this is!

I also loved the wraps. They’re the smaller ones – ideal for lunchboxes, or snacks when you have a party. I used some leftover salad and steak from the previous night to make my wraps for lunch.

You can also use them as mini pizza bases – simply add your ingredients on top and pop them in the oven for about 7 minutes. This is a great idea if you have leftover meat from the night before – also a very quick lunch and they taste just as great cold, so you can pack them in a lunchbox as well.

They do also have actual pizza bases that are really nice and thin. Even the kids will enjoy pizza night if you only use these bases.

What are the GO-LO products made with?

The pitas, breads, wraps and pizza bases are made with vital gluten, oats, linseed/flaxseed, sunflower seed, almonds), water, yeast, salt, sweetener (erythritol, stevia). All the GO-LO products are diary and egg free making them suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

The products are also high in protein and contains no refined carbs or added sugar.
