After five very long months of lockdown, it’s time for the kids to go out and play! Great news for moms and dads in Cape Town is that Playstation Rush has opened. A second offering from the team who manage the popular Rush Trampoline Parks, it’s a brand new interactive indoor play park where we reckon your kids will have an absolute blast!
Why it’s great for kids
Geared for kids age 2 to 13, there’s giant 6-meter high slides to zoot down, an exciting adventure maze with swing bridges to explore, a 4-metre high rock-climbing wall to test their strength, and a highline obstacle course to challenge them. There’s also a 40-metre bike pump track for the kids to race around and a cute Little Kids City where toddlers can play at being firemen, policemen, or anything they want.

What about the parents?
Tired moms and dads will be thrilled to know that there are child minders on hand who will keep an eye on the kids so that you can take a bit of a breather (did we hear three cheers?). Head up to the a la carte restaurant with its bird’s eye view of the kids playing area and catch up on work (there’s free WiFi), or just press pause over a good cup of local roasted coffee, or a meal. (Dads, there is a wide flat screen TV so you won’t miss out on your sport – or the latest news.)
Other facilities
If one of your kids have a birthday coming up, bear in mind that Playstation Rush has two private rooms that can be hired out for kids parties. You’ll be able to bring your own goodies, or they’ll cater for you if you want.
How much does it cost?
Entrance for parents is free, but kids are charged per hour of play. (Prices vary for peak and off-peak visits.) We’d definitely recommend one of their memberships, however, because we know that once your kids have been here, they’ll want to come again with their friends!
Please note that owing to current Level 2 lockdown restrictions, access is strictly limited and booking is essential.
Where is it located?
You’ll find Playstation Rush at 10 Honeywell Road, Kirstenhof, Cape Town. (Tip: turn at the Spotty Dog landmark.)
When is it open?
The playpark is open from 10am to 6pm, Monday to Wednesday, 9am to 9pm Thursday to Saturday and from 9am to 6pm on Sundays.
For more information and bookings, go to www.playstation.rushsa.co.za.
We’re giving away 4 memberships to 4 lucky kids to play at Playstation Rush for one month for free. To stand a chance to win, simply fill in the form below. Entries close 10 September at midnight. T’s & C’s apply.
Additional T’s & C’s:
