There’s nothing that warms the heart quite as much as feel-good story. This is exactly what this video is – the sweetest thing we’ve seen a stranger do in a very long time.
YouTube user CanyonChasers posted a video on his channel titled “How I deal with kids playing in my driveway | The Saga of My Drivway Racetrack”. In the comment accompanying the video he explains how he gets an alert from his driveway camera every night. “At first, I was a bit annoyed, but then I found myself looking forward to the evening alert. And then inspiration struck, in the form of my wife giving me this great idea. What transpired has turned into the best part of an otherwise dreary pandemic summer.”
Moms and dads, we couldn’t believe what we saw when we watched this video. This random stranger went through so much trouble to make his driveway a fun place for this 3-year-old that annoyed him at first.

In the video footage from the driveway camera, you can see the mom and dad and their dogs walking past, but then comes the little boy on his bicycle and drives a little loop in the driveway before heading back onto the pavement to join his parents. This little ritual goes on for days – every single time the family passes this house on their daily walk, the little boy drives a loop in the driveway.
So, one-night Mr Friendly Neighbour decided to draw a racetrack in his driveway for the little boy. The next day when mom and son passed the neighbour’s house, the toddler looks a little confused at first, but then goes to the racetrack start and does 2 loops before joining mom again for their walk.
The neighbour kept on improving on his driveway racetrack designs and the toddler clearly had so much fun. The changing racetrack eventually attracted other cyclists as well and in the video you can see even the adults heading into the driveway for a bit of fun. Moms with their prams also decided to give the racetrack a go on their walks.
What a nice guy! We all need a neighbour like this!
