This toddler is NOT feeling the coronavirus lockdown – and boy, can we relate!

A little girl from Phoenix, Arizona ranting about not being able to have all the things she likes doing, and eating, has beautifully captured the frustration and exhaustion we’re all feeling after four months in lockdown.

In a video clip which has gone viral since her dad posted it on social media, Blake McLennan is seen sitting at the dinner table with her family, a bowl in front of her. Right from the word go, you can see how worked up she’s getting as her dad has a talk with them to explain what’s happening in the world.

And her reaction is priceless!

“Everything in this world has shut all the way down,” she says. “The ice cream truck is shut down! We can’t go anywhere – not even McDonalds, which is my favourite restaurant,” she exclaims, close to tears.

Her dad reminds her that they can drive through McDonalds for a take-away, but she’s having none of it and let’s loose: “It’s really frustrating,” she howls. “If you go through the drive-thru, that’s boring…If you were inside playing on the playground, it wouldn’t be boring.”

According to a report on, what her dad caught on camera was only part of what she had to say after he and his wife told their kids they wouldn’t be going to school. When she found out that her dancing class – her favourite activity – was also cancelled, he says she went on for seven minutes. After a few minutes, her dad said it was too good not to capture on camera.

He says he never expected the video to go viral and that so many people have reached out to them subsequently, saying it captured their mood exactly.
